General

What is RideReply?
RideReply is a free platform that lets drivers send and receive anonymous messages using license plate numbers. Think of it as a way to say “hey, your lights are on” without leaving a note under a wiper blade.

How does it work?
1. Register and claim your license plate
2. Receive messages from other drivers who spot your plate
3. Send messages to any plate — if that driver is registered, they’ll get it instantly

Is RideReply free?
Yes. Creating an account, claiming your plate, and sending/receiving messages are all free.

Do I need to download an app?
Not right now — RideReply is fully web-based and works in any mobile browser. Just go to ridereply.com and you’re set.

Privacy & Safety

Can other drivers see my personal information?
No. Your name, email, phone number, and other personal details are never shared with other users. Messages are tied to plates, not identities. You choose how (and whether) to respond.

How do you prevent harassment or abuse?
Every message is reviewed by AI before it’s sent. Messages that contain personal information, threats, profanity, or inappropriate content are blocked automatically. You can also block and report users who misuse the platform.

Can someone use RideReply to stalk or track me?
No. RideReply doesn’t share location data, travel history, or any identifying information. All a sender knows is your plate number — which is already publicly visible on your car. We simply provide a safe, moderated channel to communicate.

What kind of messages are allowed?
Helpful, neutral messages — things like:
  • “Your headlights are on”
  • “You left your window down”
  • “You’re blocking my driveway”
  • “Someone hit your car in the parking lot”
  • “Nice ride — what year is it?”
Messages that contain personal information requests, threats, harassment, or explicit content will be blocked by our AI moderation.

What happens if someone sends me something inappropriate?
If a message slips through moderation, you can report it directly. We take reports seriously and will suspend accounts that violate our guidelines.

Your Account

How do I claim my license plate?
After registering, go to your Dashboard and click “Add a Plate.” Enter your state and plate number, confirm you’re the rightful owner, and you’re done.

Can I claim more than one plate?
Yes. If you have multiple vehicles, you can claim a plate for each one.

What if someone else claims my plate?
Plates claims require an ownership certification. If you believe someone has fraudulently claimed your plate, contact us at hello@ridereply.com and we’ll investigate.

Can I delete my account?
Yes. Contact us and we’ll remove your account and all associated data.

Messaging

What if the plate I’m messaging isn’t registered on RideReply?
Currently, messages can only be delivered to registered plates. We’re working on ways to handle unregistered plates in the future — stay tuned.

Is there a limit to how many messages I can send?
To prevent spam, there are reasonable daily limits. Normal usage (a few messages a day) won’t be affected.

Can I reply to a message I received?
Yes! When you receive a message, you can reply directly — all while keeping both parties anonymous.

Will I get notified when I receive a message?
Yes. You’ll receive an email notification when a new message arrives. We’re working on additional notification options.

Use Cases

When would I actually use this?
More often than you’d think:
  • Parking lots: Lights left on, doors left open, shopping cart about to hit their car
  • Apartments/condos: “You’re in my spot” or “your car alarm has been going off”
  • Street parking: Blocking a driveway, street sweeper day reminder
  • Fender benders: Witnessed a hit-and-run? Message the victim’s plate
  • Compliments: Sometimes you just want to tell someone their car is cool

Can businesses or communities use RideReply?

Absolutely. Property managers, HOAs, university parking offices, and fleet operators can all benefit from giving their drivers a safe communication channel. Interested? Reach out to us about community partnerships.

Technical

What browsers are supported?
RideReply works in all modern browsers — Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge — on both desktop and mobile.

Is my data encrypted?
Yes. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Your license plate information is stored securely and never exposed to other users.
